Once your Windrose dedicated server is live, the settings decide how your world plays — how fast your crew levels, how generous loot and crafting feel, and who has admin control. Where Windrose server settings live
On managed Flux hosting you change settings from the web dashboard: a config editor for core server options and the WindrosePlus panel for rate multipliers, the live sea chart and admin commands. There is nothing to install on the players' side. If you self-host instead, the same options live in the server's configuration files and are edited manually before each restart.
The settings that matter most
- Server name & password — how your server appears to your crew, and whether it is private. Set a password for an invite-only world.
- Admin access — who can run admin commands and manage the world through the WindrosePlus RCON console.
- Player slots — how many players can connect (Windrose co-op supports up to 8; roughly 4 is recommended for the smoothest late-game).
- XP multiplier — how quickly players level. Raise it for a faster, more casual campaign; lower it to make progression feel earned.
- Loot / gathering multiplier — how much you get from drops and harvesting. Higher rates suit shorter play sessions.
- Crafting multiplier — how fast items and ships are built. Higher rates speed up shipbuilding for a small crew.

Multipliers are relative to the base rates, so start near Balanced and nudge from there — small changes have a big effect on how a long-running world feels.
